Habitat Ambassador

Need. Help Habitat spread the word about the need for affordable homeownership in East King County, by responding to requests for information, speakers, representatives, and table presentations from our community of supporters. These can include volunteer fairs, workplace giving presentations, community events, faith community fundraisers, and other opportunities.

Duties. Retain key facts about Habitat EKC, help develop speaking and PowerPoint presentations, develop and maintain public information materials, attend regular training and information meetings, volunteer for and attend available speaking and tabling opportunities, record and share contact information from interested community members, give feedback on public sentiment gathered from community outreach.

Commitment. Ongoing, 6-months to 1-year commitment. 8 hours per month; highest demand in September-December; daytime and occasional evening/weekend afternoons. Regular meeting schedule TBD.

Location. Office and Community Locations

Training. Full training provided, including HFHEKC Orientation & History, Site visits, Public Speaking and presentation development & training, and other as needed.

Tools & Access. Display and tabling materials (provided). Volunteer must provide transportation to Habitat EKC office and events.

Strengths & Abilities. Good presentation skills, communication skills, approachable & friendly, public speaking ability, retain and repeat facts & figures.

Great candidates include… Retired community members, past Habitat office or construction volunteers, Habitat homeowners, other Habitat supporters (board members, donors, etc).
