Manager of Family Services
Habitat for Humanity of East King County has an immediate
opportunity for an experienced Manager of Family Services.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Manager of Family Services is
responsible for implementing policies, procedures and programs that maximize
the opportunity for successful home ownership for future applicants, newly
selected homebuyers, and existing Habitat homeowners, as well as expanding
Habitat for Humanity of East King County’s mission through diverse community
engagement activities and outreach initiatives.
In addition, this position will be responsible for, but not limited to, the
following:
- Responsible for the Family Selection committee to promote
homeownership opportunity through required advertising, orientation
and application process.
- Recruit volunteers for all phases of the selection, as well as
recruit and develop key volunteers into committee leadership
positions.
- Maintain required documentation of applications and acceptances
in a Family Personnel.
- File and ensure all Fair Housing and Equal Credit Opportunity
laws are strictly adhered to.
- Recruit Family Advocates, train and develop volunteers, and
ensure communication with committee is consistent and clear.
- Liaise with Homeowners Associations (HOA) and property managers,
promote educational opportunities for HOA board officers, and
provide subject matter expertise to new homeowners who are
unfamiliar with communal living rules and regulations.
- Monitor “sweat equity” by logging hours and setting benchmarks.
- Consult with the Construction Staff concerning homeowner issues,
as well as scheduling and participating in pre- and post-occupancy
home inspections.
- Work closely with Finance Director to resolve mortgage
delinquencies, create new HOA budgets, and prepare homebuyers for
closing escrow.
- Collaborate with Construction Manager to determine family
selection and occupancy timelines, as well as scheduling of non
new-construction projects.

Qualifications:
BA in Social Work, or comparable work experience. Preferred candidate
has five or more years of experience in a non-profit setting, working
directly with low-income or vulnerable populations. Candidate must be
familiar with affordable housing and poverty issues, especially in King
County. Strong communication and presentation skills required. Candidate
must have the ability to lead and manage volunteers and enjoy working in
a grassroots organization. Work week is Monday to Friday, with
occasional meetings and events on weekends and evenings.
